Where do allergies come from?

Where Do Allergies Come From?

Recently we have been hearing how people are having more allergies or having stronger reactions to the same irritants they have had in the past. This is because your body’s immune system, which is the true cause for allergy symptoms, has had an abnormal response to innocent things in your surroundings. The immune system sees these everyday environments as threats and attacks them the same way it would attack a harmful invader.

Something to know as well is that if you already have an allergy, you are susceptible to developing others, especially in a year with a high pollen count or if the bodies exposure to your environment has changed. What I mean by that is, if you were to move to a new state or country that didn’t have the same allergens you are used to, you may have an adverse reaction to the new environment.

The more we can regulate our immune system with the proper vitamins and nutrients, along with chiropractic adjustments, the better our body can respond to invaders that are more harmful. On the other hand, the more we are exposed to allergens and toxins in our environment, the more our immune system will react. Specific allergies are not inherited but the tendency toward having allergies is, so if there is someone in your family that suffers during this season, you can be proactive in how your own immune system responds to the environmental irritants.
